Welcome to Copper Cannon's FIRST Blog

Welcome everybody to our first ever blog,

My intentions here are to keep anyone who is supports our camp informed of what's going on up here... and there's always something! Secondly, I would like to try and raise awareness for our wonderful program. Whether that be by attracting fellow bloggers with my 'sparkling' wit or directing prospective supporters here to show them what we get up to. Fingers crossed that's the way it goes!

So this is where the first spiel goes...... For anyone who doesn't already know, Copper Cannon is a summer camp in New Hampshire, but we're not just ANY regular plain old summer camp. We're pretty special. We are a non-profit summer camp for low-income children in the state of New Hampshire. We give children, who may not have such a great time at home, or the money to go on vacation, a welcome break. Camp is not just a bit of fun either. It's a great opportunity for the campers to learn about team-work, nature, how fun it is to get so muddy that your mom wouldn't recognize you and also learn about other world cultures. Last year, for example, we had counselors and program staff from France, England, Wales, Mexico, New Zealand, Australia and Hungary- and the US of course! These staff were a powerhouse of energy and fun, and fantastic positive role models for Copper Cannon's campers. (That's a picture of some of them up there, it might give you a little better idea of what I'm on about!)

OK, so I think that's enough background info for now, back to what's current....

The fall is here. Pete, Stephen and I will be heading out in 5 minutes or so, or when I finish this blog, to rake ALL the leaves. That's a lot of leaves. They are beautiful when they're on the trees but not so much when they fall down. We are doing it for the campers, and staff. If we didn't rake now then there will be no grass for the BOMBARDMENT field come spring and summer. That is what's important after all.

Toodle-pip bloggers, take care!

Enjoy the remainder of fall, more fun next week!
